Energy Wise Alliance

About

Description
Energy Wise Alliance (EWA) is a Louisiana non-profit organization dedicated to improving Louisianas energy future. The mission of Energy Wise Alliance is to provide education, data, and quality assurance programs for individuals, businesses, schools, and policymakers in order to reduce utility consumption and increase sustainability, primarily for the benefit of disadvantaged communities.

EWA is working with the Green School Group and partners like The Green Project to integrate energy efficiency education into school curricula with their Hands on Minds On Youth Programming. In-classroom presentations for k-8 students about energy efficiency and weatherization are aligned with GLEs/Common Core for math and science, and include in-classroom activities to support the lesson. All teachers that book a lesson will be entered to win a solar array for their home ($25k value) from PosiGen. We will also provide a home energy efficiency kit to all 5th-7th graders in Orleans Parish, so that kids can become teachers themselves, passing on the lessons they learn to their family members back home. To book a time, or for more information at engergyla.org or call/email Jamie at (504) 656-6224 and jamie@energyla.org.

Additionally, EWA is working with community organizations to educate homeowners. A menu of free community workshops is available here.

Free energy assessment for business members ($150 value).
